Themes From Acts

In the month of May, we have begun a series of themes for the church from the book of Acts. The worship time, as well as the class times are centered around different areas of 1st century church life. We have studied Jesus' vision for His disciples, as well as prayer from Acts 1. We are now in Acts chapter 2 looking at the very beginning of the church. Omar has done an excellent job (from what I understand, because I teach the youth class at the same time) teaching the adults the history of the church, and even teaching some of the history of the Old Testament leading up to the church and it's beginning.

By the months end, we should be able to cover, Peter's sermon, the response of the people, and the lifestyle changes that occured after they became Christians. I see this as a good beginning for this first plant. It gives the congregation an opportunity to see what the church should be doing, who we are, why we do what we do and most importantly the purpose of the church...to glorify God!
