Pray for the Church
Yesterday (Sunday morning) toward the end of service, a visitor from the states interrupted the announcements to "ask for prayers". Her motive was clearly made through her comments. She said something along the lines of, I want to ask for prayers for the leadership of this church. I ask that you pray for them, b/c they are welcoming people with tattoos, EVEN women with tattoos, they are allowing men to have long hair and EVEN have a bunch of kids running around this place. I think most saw it for what it was! At the same time, a public judgment of the church like that can cause problems. You are probably mature enough to blow it off and realize the source and the Biblical/Jesus' ENTIRE ministry confusion on her part, but imagine only being a Christian of a few years or even a few months. The out burst might cause you some concern. I am proud of the heritage of this church and how from the beginning the church planting team realized that the gospel is for all! NO ONE was ever rejected from the church. We have had to deal with a sin problem or two and others decided Leon Sur wasn't for them, but by far the majority of those who have been baptized and studied with among us continue to grow and learn with us. God is good and we know He is watching over His flock. I would ask your continued prayers on behalf of the church. I know I can speak for both my family, the Palafox and the Rubio family in that we DO desire prayers on our behalf. We need God's strengthen and help! We want to see the church grow! God be praised!
Thanks for your interest in the Lord's work in Leon and our family!
