What happened to prayer and example?

Recently I read a "how to" article. I have seen various pop up with the new year approaching. Though there are some obvious changes we need to make in the churches of Christ and "steps" are often a good source to know we are on the right track, I was concerned to see little about prayer or leading by example. My personal fear is that prayer is not that important to us and we are often so ashamed of our own example that we don't dare mention it!

You might be prone to think I'm "getting paid", because I often make reference to Terry Rush and his blog. He currently has a great article on there called IDEAS FOR CHURCH GROWTH FOR THE NEW YEAR . I have heard some of the concepts before, but I love Terry's dependant nature on God and letting the Spirit work! I too often fall into the trap of thinking if "I" make this change or if "so and so" is doing "such and such" then things will change. The New Year is approaching and though I'm excited, I some times feel like I'm not much help. This article reminded me that I CAN get on my knees for the church and the Lord's work here in Leon! God is the only One who can accomplish His will here! Remember to pray and lead by example. Without a godly example, you don't have much to offer and without God you have NOTHING to offer!!
