Toluca Reunion
Man! What a weekend!!! Friday after the kids got out of school, we packed the car and headed
for Toluca. We arrived at my "Mexican" mother's house! She feed us like kings and cared for our every need. It was a good time together. We got to see them a couple of months ago, but before that it had been years!
Jasmin's, a sister in Christ here in Leon, parents were graduating from the preaching school in Toluca. It was an honor to be there and see the new workers that the Lord is sending to the harvest. I didn't realize this was the ceremony for a good part of Mexico. There were people from the school in 7 different parts of the country! Toluca graduated 7 this year!
As most of you know we were AIMers there some 12 years ago! I haven't been back but a day in 1998, so essentially it's been 12 since I saw a lot of the members. It was crazy fun to see everybody, hug necks and recall my Spanish flub-ups! Sunday morning we worshipped with a few hundred members! It was an experience for sure! In all, it was great to get out of Leon and see friends that we had not seen in years. We were so warmly received and blessed! The best was seeing people from years ago that I had kinda "blown off" thinking they would never truly commit to God. Now they are amazing disciples and even one family was now TEACHING in the preaching school! God truly is a great God and a God that does so much more than we ask or imagine!
