$67 M Pants and Dr. James Dobson
I'm sure you have heard or read about this one! A JUDGE, a District of Columbia administrative hearings judge, Roy Pearson, has filed a lawsuit over a pair of pants. Now, it's not ridiculous enough that someone is suing for a pair of pants, it's not even eccentric enough that a Judge filed the suit, no it is only over the top when you get to the figure of $67 MILLION DOLLARS!!! Now, I think the "poor little foreigners" card is being SLIGHTLY over played by the media/defending lawyer, because in fact the business seems to be doing quite well other than this misadventure of losing the wrong guys pants. The reality is though that these things are costly and hiring a lawyer to defend them was no small price! Please forgive my annoyance with the media, though I do sincerely feel for the Chung family. The good news out of all of this is that only a fellow "distributor of justice" will have to sit through this, what can only be described as a "circus crowns tantrums", rather than 12 people of the community serving on a jury! I wonder if this Judge gave it a second thought or what he hoped to accomplish? It's so frustrating to see how some are so blind to any form of what is right and wrong. It's sad to think that some minds have become so full of arrogance, corruption and greed that they can make a nation feel disgusted, deceived and helpless in the battle for justice! If we are lucky, Judge Pearson will loose his job and any future HOPE of employment and maybe get his pants back when this is all said and done! ;)
The other night I was watching Fox. Hannity and Colmes had asked James Dobson and his wife to come on the show and talk about the “National Day of Prayer”. Hannity (I believe, b/c I don't watch the show enough to know who is who) was seemingly agreeing with the Dobson's assessment that things like the Virgina Tech terror and other problems this nation faces could be solved if we didn't take God out of the picture and then run to Him to blame or beg for help. The Dobsons quoted
"...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
Colmes (whoever the glasses guy is), questioned how 10 commandments on the wall or God in our schools would help with the problems we face today...much less cause this young, disturbed man to not draw guns and start killing everyone on the school campus. Colmes, needless to say, is the liberal ('Rosie' of the show) doing "his best" to see things from "another point of view". The only problem is that his attitude might change if he had lost someone special in the 30 something killed. I appreciate the fact that there is multiple points of view for every issue, but if you have NO common ground (like God...for example!) other than "there is no truth, or right and wrong" what do you have? I some times feel like there is no justice in Mexico, no right and wrong, but then again I'm thankful no one in Leon cares TOO much if there pants get lost at the dry cleaners or if 10 commandments are posted on the wall!
I think Aerosmith might have said it best when they sang,

"We're seeing things in a different way

God knows it ain't His

It sure ain't no surprise...

...there's somethin' right with the world today, everybody knows it's wrong!"
