Two goodbye parties
Saturday April 24th and Sunday April 25th we were invited to the house of different families for some fellowship time. Saturday, Barb had an early morning ladies class and then we spent the rest of the day with the Galvan family. They are super kind and have blessed us with encouragement for years now. Their daughter Evelyn is in A.I.M. headed to Scotland to serve with the church there. We had grilled steaks and all kinds of good eats! It was a good day to be with friends and just enjoy each other. They told their stories about meeting each other and different carriers and studies they have taken. We shared our stories of A.I.M. times and how God has worked in our lives over the years!
Sunday, Alfonso and Carmen invited the Palafox family and us out to their house to eat. Carmen and her mother made tortillas and gorditas (kinda like pita bread, but MUCH better). The food was great and Alfonso was really encouraging too. He told of different congregations that had run them off. Members who rebuked him for an untucked shirt or his wife wearing pants. He said that there's a huge difference in "his church" (Leon Sur) and those other churches he had worshipped with before. We have tried to receive them in love and let them grow in Christ. The Palafox family has primarily worked with Alfonso and his family and they have done a great job. It's cool to look back now after nearly 6 years and see some of the fruits of the soil that the missionary families here in Leon have labored for a good time now! Praise God for the growth He has given and the honor He shares with us!
