Busting at the seams!
This morning was awesome. We had a few different visiting families, there were kids everywhere and we were several seats short...not to mention packed in like sardines! In all we were one person shy of 70 in attendance! It was a good time of worship and challenge from the word. I guess it's a good "problem" to not have enough space or chairs!
We are working on a baptistry for this coming Sunday. There are 2 ladies that want to give their lives to Christ. In the past, we would go to another church here in town, but it's too far. We have also been to the water park a time or two, but it's too expensive. In the end, we decided to buy some wood and a tarp and make what we use to call a "poor man's swimming pool". It's a little over 6 feet long, 3 foot wide and over 2 feet tall. I know for some congregations this is a "small" baptistry, but for us it's like building an ark! Thanks to the AIMers, screws went in quick and it's coming together pretty good. We will see how all the "pieces" fit together. We also have to figure out filling it and emptying it. Mexican's have a thing about cold water, so hopefully we can get some warm water in there for the moment when they are baptized. Maybe once we get a building of our own, we can make a nice one with filters, heaters and the whole "enchilada"!
The LST guys get here tomorrow! It promises to be a crazy day, because not only are they getting "settled" in, they are also having their first meeting with all the readers that same night at 7 p.m. Please pray that the Lord provides many people to read with and that He will open their hearts to His word! We are excited about all the possibilities God has in store for the church! Please pray for health and strengthen to keep up with all the planning and prep during these times of visits and ministry. We would also ask for prayers as we raise working fund. It's times like these when we really feel the crunch. May He forever be glorified!
