“What the world needs now…”
Last night we were reminded of the hurt people suffer as humans. Too often, I feel like the lost are not offered much grace. We want people to come to the church that are already “christianized”. As I look at the picture of Christ on the cross I see great pain. I see God having come to earth only to be rejected by the very people He came to save. I also see a man full of forgiveness and grace! Every time Jesus told someone their sins were forgiven, he was in essence, “adding a punch” to the beating He would endure before He was crucified or accepting the pounding of the nails a little deeper into His hands! He forgave people before they asked, and he even forgave people that would never ask to be forgiven! Barbara and I have really been challenged to be more grateful for the grace and forgiveness we have received and to pass that on to others. It’s not easy forgiving people that don’t ask or that don’t “deserve” forgiveness, but I know the cross was endured so that I might receive God’s grace through Christ’s blood! Perhaps the greatest thing that the world needs now is a little bit of grace. Maybe through patience and endurance, more souls could be won! Our prayer is that the church known as “Leon Sur” would be full of grace and love and receive people with the same standard Jesus used to receive people.
