"ask a fat guy"
Here's a NEW SERIES I'm starting for all you food lovers! Now, when you want to the know the Skinny of where to find good food, you go to the people who eat! This is a summer delight that I will credit Barb with...smart huh?! Our couches aren't very comfortable if ya know what I mean?We will call this one "Grillin' Man's Dessert". Ever finished grilling your food, but you realized that your coals are still super hot?! This is a great "solution"!
You will need:
- Apples
- Brown Sugar (splenda makes this too!)
- Cinnamon
- Butter (light or whatever)
- Aluminum Foil
- hot coals (works in an oven too bake til soft).
Steps:
- Core the apple
- Place it on a piece of aluminum foil big enough to cover it completely.
- Stuff the opening with brown sugar, butter and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top!
- Place on the grill while you eat your chicken, steak or whatever you just got through grilling...great way to use up these STILL HOT coals, but it works with propaners too!
- After 20 or 30 minutes, when the food has settled and the apple is soft, take it off the grill, throw away the foil, put a scoop of nilla ice cream on top and get ready to enjoy an AWESOME Spring/Summer dessert! Later I will share some more "MEXICAN" recipes, but for now this should give you something to CHEW on! Believe it or not, I shared this recipe with a taco guy around the corner...ever since that day, this recipe is on his "dessert menu"! Try it, I promise you won't regret it...unless you don't like apples! Got a great food idea or a request?! Throw it on the comments box and I will get back with ya asap!
