"where ya been?!"

I feel like I haven't posted in forever, but I think it's just b/c so much has happened in these last couple of days back...week today! We were glad to see everyone and everyone was really kind in their reception of us too. There are some good things in place and though the 1st of 2008 promises to be really slow, Lord willing, this will be a great year to His glory!

I tagged along this Thursday with Omar to the Religious Association annual meeting. Though the meeting was a little painful to sit through (government has a lot of requirements for the church!), I had a great time with Omar, Raciel and Roberto. It seems like we laughed for 2 hours over to GDL and 2 hours back. I'm blessed to work with such good men and enjoy living and working together with people who sacrifice and do whatever it takes to see the gospel spread throughout Mexico! It was also good to see so many leaders of the church come together. There were 102 "voters/representatives" and many others observing (myself included). I would ask for prayers for the future of the church in Mexico. There are many men who are pretty far along in years and it's time for us younger men to start stepping up in those leadership roles.
Last night was our weekly small group. It was a good time together as always, but we also got to eat a little cake for Esperanza's b-day. We took a little time at the 1st of the group to encourage her and tell her how much she means to us and what a great example she is to us all. She is a GREAT woman of God and we are blessed to have her here in Leon.

Butch Merritt came to visit Jlae and we have gotten to spend a little time with him. They are such a great family and he has again reminded us of what a great church Hart has been not only to us over the years, but so MANY people! Please keep his return trip in your prayers.
In all, I think things are going well. The Palafox and Rubio family have kept things rolling. The AIMers are taking leadership positions and it makes me proud to see so many workers in Leon doing such a good work. We really look forward to the changes and challenges this year will present us with. Please continue to pray for the Lord's people in Leon, GTO!!!
