True Koinonia
We arrived last night at our small group having had a hard week. The reality is that pretty much everyone in our small group had suffered, been tested or gone through a painful experience this past week. I read James 5:13ff about prayer and we talked about how we needed to draw close to God...in the good times and the bad times! Orlando and Mari were visiting and we are glad to have them. Orlando brought a very positive and uplifting out look to most of us who were sick or hurting. We were reminded that even when bad things happen, God is good. I was listening to a sermon this week online and the preacher talked about congregations who have different traditions. One congregation's preacher would always greet the church with "God is good" and the congregation would respond "all the time". He then would repeat "all the time" and the congregation would respond "God is good". My favorite thing about last night is that when I realized that this group truly had become my family. We celebrated things together; birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc, but we also came to each others aid. This week Susana was unable to walk, because she had injured her leg. Three times during this past week someone from our group brought her a meal, without being asked. We also gathered at her house to pray for her on Wednesday. I was so blessed to see how the group truly is "devoted" and even now more so "daily" just like Acts 2:42. Praise God He has worked in His church and created a true fellowship among this small group!
