"Revival Month?!"
When you think about it, it only makes since. Summer relationships are growing cold, the weather is changing, people spend more time in the house than "out and about" and even those flames of camp and summer mission trips are dying down. This is a hard time of year in some senses. By now, the kids are sick of the newness of school, parents have really had a break in months. Matter of fact, parents a busy running kids to basketball, football and cheerleading practice. Late Friday night games often followed by early morning Saturday activities. And with the end of the year so close it's hard to start anything new, because nearly tomorrow is Halloween, then there's Thanksgiving and practically the next day is the holidays and nothing gets started again til mid to late January. No! I'm not complaining. What's the point?!
October is a great month for revival. People need something to believe in. They need a true purpose to pray for, a real cause to give to. In reality, here in Leon, this is probably one of our craziest months and November and December aren't much slower. (I'm not talking about anything other than church activities.) At the same time, I see a need for a revival. A need to remind the church that we have been given a great purpose. Remind them we serve a great God. I know, I know, we are suppose to do that weekly, if not more often, but I'm talking about something more. A revival is not telling people, "alright, let's go, we can do this!" A revival is a change emotionally, change of habits, change of prayers, change of mind, a regrowth, a transformation, among many other things! We need to sing "Jesus is coming soon" and then ask what we are going to do about it. It's a renewing of priorities and a look at where time and money is spent!
You can not get yourself out of a problem at the same level of maturity you got yourself into that problem. In other words, YOU HAVE TO BECOME MORE MATURE THAN YOU WERE WHEN YOU GOT YOURSELF INTO THE PROBLEM. Please pray for a revival in Leon Sur and the city of Leon, GTO!
