Mission Sunday
No, I'm not talking about "harvest Sunday" or some congregation raising money for us. I'm not even asking for you to pray about our support (although we always appreciate that). What I'm talking about is a less than 3 year old "mission effort" looking OUTside themselves and wanting to help other mission efforts. Although this picture to the left isn't exactly "accurate" ;), yesterday, just under $3,000 pesos (10.67 pesos to 1 dollar) was collected for missions! The church decided to send the funds to a mission effort about a half an hour away, the state's capital ("...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem...") Guanajuato, Guanajuato. Although, I had hoped for a larger number, I'm super excited to know that the church gave out of their poverty to help ANOTHER congregation! There are so many challenges and so many things that the congregation is struggling in (much like every congregation), but it's days like this when I'm reminded that God is doing good things! Praise Him this day for the sacrifice of your brothers and sisters in Leon, GTO!
