"Token Drunk Guy"
First I would like to say thanks to everyone that has written us and encouraged our mistry. Believe it or not, I really wasn't "fishing". I some times think I'm to quick to "protect" supporters and family from the "downside/harsh realities". I know God is so good and He has blessed us some much. I think the title said it best, "One of those days"!
This morning was our weekly prayer morning. About half way through it a guy named Jose walked in and sit toward the back. He was beet red in the face and his speak was slightly slurred. I went over and greeted him and encouraged him to come over and be a part of the circle of prayer. We split up into groups to pray and I went to talk with him. He told me that he has a drinking problem and it's destroying his life. I promised him I would pray for him and so would others (please remember him). I've noticed that frequently, if the building is open, somene drunk or in need is knocking. I think too often we see people on the outside and just think "another drunk" or "one more person in need". I was challenged to see with Christ's eyes and remember that He wants ALL to be saved and come to a knowledge of Jesus (1 Tim. 2:3-4ish)!
