Missions Sunday

I'm really excited about missions Sunday. Most people when they hear those words think thousands...I know of a congregation that thinks well over a MILLION, but when we think "missions Sunday" we think of cans full of change. Last year there was $4,000 pesos given (little less than $400 dollars). At the time, that was nearly 4 times what was given in our weekly contribution! It was a great achievement. Although we haven't set a "goal" and we currently don't know where the money will go (we let the congregation decide once the money is taken up), it's exciting to think about the possibilities!!!

If I remember correctly, about a year and something ago, Omar came up with the idea of challenging the congregation to look outside the work and even perhaps the state to other congregations throughout the country. We gave last year's funds to a new work in Tepic. It was used for an evangelistic campaign where 4 people gave their lives to Christ!

This year we have even begun to dream some about helping a congregation outside of Mexico. Please pray and dream with us as the congregation prepares this offering. We are excited about the growth of the church here in Leon and their desire to give more and do more!
