"What we are up against"

As you may have read, a few posts back, we are coming up on "holy week" and "passover". Omar recently taught an excellent class to the congregation viewing the traditions and history of "ash Wednesday" and all the other things that go on during this time. There has been some talk lately, specifically among the new Christians, about fasting and following the rituals of this time, that they have always known as "God's will". Whoever said Satan was stupid, fell for it!

I received an email today from Gailyn Van Rheenen about "Contextualization and Syncretism". Most of which is archived on his website: www.missiology.org. It reminded me of all the challenges we face today in this postmodern world. Milton Jones has written an excellent book dealing with this subject called, "Christ. No more, no less". It's a challenge to return to Jesus as the "author and perfecter" of our faith. It's crazy to think of the challenges we face today as we strive to stread the Gospel. Please continue to pray for Leon Sur as we strive to deeply ground the church in the Word.
