"What a night!"
Yesterday, one of the ladies in the congregation was released from the hospital. She is diabetic and is 7 months pregnant. She is in her 30's and has had some complications. She had been in the hospital for 12 days. We decided to go visit her and take them some food and flowers. We had a really good visit, because we really don't know them as well as we would like to know them. Please keep Eric, his wife and children in your prayers. From there we made a "taco stop" on the way to a funeral. Another member's father had passed away that morning. In Mexico they stay with the body from the time of death, all night and into the evening the next day when they have the funeral services. Typically within 24 hours the body is buried. We arrived around 11 p.m. expecting to stay with the family until 1 a.m. or so. We were well received, but after about a half an hour Masha called Omar. Masha and Heather had been studying with a young man named Arturo. He wanted to get baptized! We decided to meet up at the building around midnight to baptize him. We finished up there with the family and headed to the building. By the time we cleaned out the baptistery and got some warmer water in there...you can imagine the temperature,February around midnight...it was getting close to one. We sang a song or two, Carl got to baptize Arturo and we hugged and called it a night. Although it was a late night and many ups and downs emotionally, we were excited to see God at work!
