Ladies Day/Men's Meeting

Saturday, we are busy day. We began the day shopping for birthday presents for Mafer and Susana. We headed to Susana's house to "take her to lunch" for her birthday. When we arrived, she had enchilladas made for us. It wasn't what we had planned, but that's Susana for you. She is always wanting to give and won't hardly receive anything. She has been a great woman of God in her short time as a Christian. After that we rushed to Mafer's birthday...we were like an hour or more late! We had a good time there with various member from the church and hanging out with the family. From there we went to the building to prep for the Ladies class. This was our first class of the year and we weren't sure what to expect. There were nearly 20 in attendance! Various ladies were visiting. We were super excited to see so many come. Follow the ladies class, we had a men's meeting. This first one was primarily an introduction to the purpose and focus of these meetings. Omar talked about our responsibility as males to help lead the congregation, the basic business of the congregation, and our future vision for Leon. There were a little over 10 men in attendance. In all it was a fast, but good day. It's times like those that are so important to the growth of the church. Times when we can invite new people and fellowship really build up the church! This Wednesday we will have our monthly prayer time in the evening (we meet every Wednesday morning to pray as well). We are also going to have an evangelistic campaign Friday and Saturday night. We have asked a missionary from GTO to come over and speak. Please keep these efforts in your prayers!
