"Ladies Day 06"

Saturday, December 2nd, Leon Sur hosted the 2nd annual ladies day. It was a ton of work by so many different people. The decoration was "garden" theme and the lessons were about Spiritual Disciples. Several different women shared a message from God's word and challenged the women to become everything God desires them to be. The ladies went home with a craft Jessica helped with and a flower pen that some of the ladies made. They had a great lunch and everyone said they were really happy. We have seen growth from last year to this and we look forward to next year being even better! There were more than 60 women that attended the Ladies day, with another 30 plus kids that Chris and I took care of during the event. We had men from GDL, Toluca, Comonfort, and other places who drove to Leon. They helped with the kids, food and did whatever was needed. In all we had well over 100 people involved in the day with who knows how many man-hours preparing, praying and planning.

We had a family of 5 "drop in" for the weekend Friday around noon and another friend from Toluca call Friday night at 11 p.m. asking us to pick her up from the bus station at 5 a.m. the next morning. By Saturday morning we had 8 visitors in the house. Later that even after the ladies day, Barb's parents came to visit with the 8 other members from the congregation. We had a good time together and lots of laughes. Needless to say, it was a crazy weekend and Barb and I are thankful for a moment of rest after what I can only imagen is the equivalent of a full weekend HURRICANE! We are so thankful for all God did! It's truly a blessing to see some many ladies step up to serve and bless the visitors with the best day possible.
