Officially a SENDING CHURCH!!!

This morning was a pretty awesome time to be a part of the Lord's work here in Leon, GTO! Omar put together a slide show and a couple of verses to challenge the congregation, but especially to challenge 3 young people! Beto, Evelyn and Rafa have decided to go and study God's word in order to go and preach the Gospel where God sends! They were each given a small cross to remind them to die to self and a $100 AD bill.
This has been YEARS in the making. In 2004, Ron Cullum, along with the Rubio family came to visit their daughter Jazmin in Leon. Beto decided to give his life to Christ and since we didn't have a baptistry yet, we asked another congregation if we could borrow theirs. It was awesome to be a part of that moment, but we had no idea that God would have this moment in mind too!! Beto will leave at the end of this month headed for Quito, Ecuador where he will study in the school of preaching for three years!
A few years later, one of our AIMers would hand a flyer, of ALL things, to Evelyn while Sunset was here. The Galvan family came to "check us out" and have been with us every sense. Chris Johnson studied with that family and after a time baptized Evelyn and her mother into Christ. Again, we rejoiced, but never realized that a couple of years later God would have AIM in mind for Evelyn.

About a year ago, Rafael began coming to church. It seemed at first it was mainly because one of our tall, slim AIMers. She left and he stayed!Over this past year we have watched him grow and develope into a more serious relationship with God and the church. He is leaving, a good job, a house and a car behind to pursue God's will in his life in Lubbock at the AIM program!
Thank you for sharing our excitement of finally becoming a sending church and not just a receiving church. It's awesome to see how God has brought this body so far! Please keep these three in your prayers and pray for the congregation as they continue to grow in their mission mindedness!!
